Happy
to
report
a
village
pub
has
had
its
crown
restored
....a
very
pleasant
pub
which
is
not
trying
to
be
pretentious
or
modern,
just
welcoming
and
comfortable.
....I
chose
the
8oz
chargrilled
sirloin
steak,
which
came
garnished
with
deep
fried
battered
onion
rings,
chips
and
salad.
I
had
requested
a
medium-cooked
steak
and
that's
exactly
what
I
got.
Chris
predictably
ordered
scampi
and
chips
with
salad,
which
he
was
delighted
to
discover
came
with
home-made
tartar
sauce
that
he
enjoyed
enormously.
....we
left
feeling
pleased
that
a
pub
which
had
been
neglected
for
a
considerable
time
was
coming
to
life
again,
and
providing
the
people
of
Stadhampton
with
a
place
that
they
can
proudly
call
their
own.

...we
took
the
kids
here
as
they
were
very
welcoming
over
the
phone
and
had
great
children's
food
on
offer
(and
not
the
usual
chicken
nuggets
-
proper
food).
The
adult
food
was
excellent.
Really
good
honest
home
cooking
with
huge
portions,
well
cooked
vegetables
and
at
reasonable
prices.....we'd
definitely
go
back.
Georgia
...We
all
thoroughly
enjoyed
the
evening!
The
food
was
superb,
all
served
hot
and
all
25
of
us
were
served
at
the
same
time
(excellent
management).
Should
any
one,
or
company
need
a
reference
to
use
your
establishment
please
refer
them
to
us.
It
was
so
much better
than
we
hoped
for.

....you
are
the
best
'wrong
turning'
we've
ever
made!
Anon
...the
best
pub
Sunday
lunch
I’ve
had.
Anne
C,
Marlborough
....that
was
the
best
staff
Christmas
dinner
we’ve
had
in
years!
Julie
H,
Unipart
...the
food
and
the
beer
were
great
-
by
chance
we
chose
the
three
vegetarian
options
which
were
all
lovely
and
the
bread
and
butter
pudding
to
finish
off
the
meal
was
superb.
It
was
definitely
worth
driving
over
from
Faringdon
for
the
evening.
I
wish
you
every
success
with
the
Crown.
Thanks
again
for
making
us
feel
so
welcome
on
this,
our
first
visit.
